Missing, the latest film by directors Nick Johnson and Will Merrick, is a heart-pumping thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.

As June navigates the digital world, using her laptop to uncover clues and hack into her mother's accounts, she is aided by her mother's best friend, her own best friend, and a local Colombian named Javier Ramos (Joaquim de Almeida).

One of the standout elements of Missing is the clever use of technology to tell the story. The film is entirely set within the screens of June's devices, creating a unique and immersive experience for the audience.

However, the film also manages to avoid falling into the trap of feeling claustrophobic or unearned, as the trail of clues expands the world beyond June's laptop.

The performances by the cast are noteworthy, particularly Storm Reid as June. Her portrayal of a desperate daughter searching for her mother is both heartbreaking and captivating.

Nia Long, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker, Megan Suri, and Joaquim de Almeida all give solid performances that add depth to their respective characters.

The script by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty is sharp, quick-paced, and filled with moments of genuine surprise. The film also manages to include themes of love and family, making it more than just a mystery to solve.

While the ending may be a little predictable, it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the film. The journey to the reveal is half the fun, and Missing takes audiences on a dizzying ride filled with twists and turns that will keep them guessing until the very end.

Overall, Missing is a well-crafted thriller that expertly combines technology and heart to tell a compelling story of a mother and daughter's relationship. It's a must-see for fans of the genre and is set to release in theaters on January 20.
